People nowadays are enjoying the advantages brought upon the existence of Internet. Although, there are some downsides of great technological innovations, one can still truly say that the Internet has done great wonders, making the lives of most people today easier. It caters to the needs and demands of everyday living and business-making, especially that we are living now in a fast-paced world.

One of the advantages brought by Internet is the existence of online TV watching. This is very useful especially for those who are sporting busy lifestyles (that watching television from a traditional TV set is far from possible already). Who would ever thought that TV watching will be made possible through online, and that it is not necessary anymore to own a TV set at home if one is just hook all the time to the Internet.

To those who are not that familiar about online TV watching, the following are some of the basic information about this new Internet innovation.

Online TV watching or also known as Internet TV is using the Internet in watching TV shows or series. Usually, one can access online TV if he/she subscribe to online Internet TV providers; however, there are some sites nowadays that offer free online TV watching or a peer-to-peer sharing of saved online files of TV shows. There are two methods of online TV watching- there is this “direct streaming” wherein one can view TV shows directly to a media player, and the other one is “direct download” wherein one can download the TV shows from a website to the computer.

Also, with the high usage of such method, there are some broadcast networks that create its own website application, such as the BBC’s iPlayer. In this process, however, a fast Internet connectivity and processing are required for a smooth and clear video streaming.

In hindsight, the existence of Online TV is a boost to broadcast industry as well. With the trend right now on information and communications technology, TV networks are exploiting well the Internet in order to reach a wider range of market. News networks, such as CNN, Fox News and BBC, have delivered news to its avid followers though online TV. Nowadays, one can really say that the Internet benefits equally both the consumers and producers.

Accessibility to online TV is not that complex as well. One just needs to have a computer set/laptop and an internet connection in order to watch TV shows and programs over the Internet. Furthermore, once the user has already such gadgets, he/she can just visit any website that offer online TV viewing. Usually, major broadcast networks and big-time TV channels have its own websites that also allow viewing of its TV programs. This is also one way of advertising their TV shows to the cyber users. There are also sites that allow peer-to-peer sharing of files on TV shows or programs. One has to be careful, however, in downloading these files as these might contain viruses and other malicious worms.

In a bigger picture, one can truly say that the world has now evolved into something that people before never expected to happen. The online TV is a good specific proof of a surprise of the present. It is nice to note, however, that people still holds great responsibility in using these inventions appropriately, and not to create havoc in the society.

The entire occurrence in this world, somehow, relies to television. From current events, music, entertainment, sports, weather, education, and news: television has contributed a lot to mankind. For adults television is a form of relaxation. And for others, it can give imperative information, which is helpful from their day to day living. And for young children, watching a television may give advantages and disadvantages. Advantage in such a way it can educate children about current events, it can awaken the talents of the child about music and arts, and it can recognize the different shows and programs like Disney’s channel, Nickelodeon and many more. However, watching television also brings disadvantages, especially for young children. Children may view the TV shows differently (cannot distinguish reality from fantasy) and display aggressive behavior out of the show they’re watching. Furthermore, the time for studying may diminish, in consequence, in watching TV. A mother should always monitor their kids. And to take an action with it, here are some guidelines in dealing with negative effects of television at home.

1. Start supervising your young children as soon as possible. It would be very difficult to manage adult children because they already had perceptions about the enjoyment in watching television.

2. Enforce guidelines and important restrictions in what time and what day to watch TV. It is better to watch TV during weekends only. And for school days, it is better to have a limitation in time. You can have at least one to two hours in watching TV to facilitate study hours for children. And monitor their performance in school and their extracurricular activities.

3. Choose the TV program that fits for child educational background. And to monitor your child, it is better to watch together with them and select the shows that give them additional learning and entertainment about the world, sciences, music or either history. When the show is over, imposed the rule of “turning it off”.

4. Keep the television in an isolated place in the house. This will help you keep an eye with your children.

5. Imposed everyday about the rules in watching TV. And when a child’s friend will come and stay in your house, try to inform the rules regarding watching TV. A mother has always the right to impose a system of rules in the house. Instruct also your child to update their friends concerning TV rules.

6. Make sure that your baby sitter knows all TV rules to avoid confusion to the child. Monitor also the baby sitter, whether she goes after with the rules.

7. And to continue providing quality guidance to your children, it is better to research in the internet about shows that has no aggressive behavior. You can clarify to them the difference between the reality and fantasy. And most importantly to hear their point of view regarding the show to be able to choose the precise TV program to your child.

Say what you want but there has been no larger furniture, no ornament more elaborate and no piece more center in living rooms all over the world than the television. Since it invaded homes in the 1960’s, there has been no single invention that has so influenced lives than the talking box.

Fast forward to the 21st century the big debate is more on what kind of television set one will buy as much what sow to watch. Gone are the days of the bulky wood-encased tubes as slimmer, clearer and sleeker sets have to town of shrinking apartments and more intimate homes.

The “war of the flats” as they call it, the raging debate between Plasma and LCD has been going on for years. However, the techie and the simple mom could still not agree, which is best. Sure, there are salesmen who can help you, but you will never be sure if they will help you understand your needs or like the product, they want you to like. At the end of the day, it is up to the consumer to decide on what fits them and their lifestyle.

Before heading out to shop, one must think about how they will use their television aside from the obvious reason of watching Oprah or playing videos. With so many brands to choose from, every manufacturer has specific sets that fit a variety of budgets. The bloodier consideration for consumers is what TV will fit their homes and their lives.

Plasma TVs, although boasting of crisper resolutions, are heavier and more fragile and should not be placed within the range of kids running around. LCD TVs are fitter for “every day life” and can easily be mounted on walls in comparison to the heavier Plasma, which may need additional support when mounted.

While plasma could claim its hands on the picture quality battle, the LCD is more flexible in terms of position. Plasma TV’s being fragile and needing protection from contact may reflect light on the screen disrupting the view. The more rigid LCD can absorb light and can be placed facing the window with not much difference.

For the choosy, the sexier plasma TV is a big hit, as it can easily blend into classy interiors and minimalist house designs and well, having a 103-inch plasma TV on your wall is already a conversation piece by itself.

The battle of the flats will never end soon and many more will argue for either one. The main consideration for buyers remains on their usage and their lifestyle. Knowing thyself, as it is said, already has the battle half won.

For the curious minds and the student of technology, the Internet provides all sorts of information on the development of electronics in the 20th century. To learn how we get here, we start from the beginning.

The Ancient Greeks found that rubbing a pelt on amber will cause a pull between the objects; this was the start of the history of Electricity two thousand years ago. Not until in 1600 that Sir William Gilbert an English physician identified the force created or exerted by substances when they are rubbed on other substances and coined the name electric from the Greek word elektron. In the 17th century, many electricity-related discoveries had been made, such as the classification of materials as conductor and insulator, the differentiation of positive from negative currents and the invention of an electrostatic generator.

Benjamin Franklin credited as father of electricity, is believed to have executed the famous flying kite during a thunderstorm experiment that led to the identification of the relationship between electricity and lightning and the creation of lightning rod in 1752.

In the year 1800, Alessandro Volta, an Italian physicist discovered that certain chemical reactions could produce electricity and thereafter created the earliest device to generate a stable electric current – the voltaic pile and later known as electric battery. The electric term Voltage is named after him after he fashioned the first conduction of electricity through linking positive and negative connectors.

The Electricity becomes possible for use only in 1831. Years later the predecessor of modern day generators is invented by Michael Faraday and decades later the light bulb was invented by Thomas Alva Edison. Almost 2 centuries after this and we have our computers, laptops, Cell phones, I-pods, TV and Stereo sets and many other electronic devices now in use.

Electronics is a branch of science and technology that specializes on the controlled flow of electrons for the purpose of information handling and device control. The control of these electrons in an electronic system is such to produce the desired manner consistent with the intended use. This electronic system is now called Electronic device.

Electronic system or devices on the early stages are so big and are usually intended for radio transmission. Another finer example of how huge these electronic devices are, is the invention of the computer. The early computers are so large it can occupy the entire room and is only capable of performing very minimal number and complexity of the task.

The discovery of semiconductors becomes the catalyst of the exponential growth of electronic technology. A semiconductor is a solid whose electrical conductivity can be controlled by adding impurities. Because of this, fundamental constraints of the early technologies are lifted like cost, availability and efficiency. The sizes of electronic devices become smaller, production is less costly and opportunity for more inventions widened.

With the emergence of a newcomer technology greatly impacted on electronics – Nanotechnology. Nanotechnology is the study of the control of matter on an atomic and molecular scale and creation of devices within that size including but not limited to electronic devices and circuit components. This technology further pushes the creation of very minute electronic devices and components to a variety of applications.

Yet another emerging newcomer technology is Robotics. Robotics is specifically an engineering technology for the creation of Robots or machines with artificial intelligence. Robotic technology involves Mechanical, Software and Electronic technology.

This course of very rapid electronic advancement in the last 2 centuries is unprecedented. Many studies were made to measure the potential rate of the technological increase on this area for study. The study shows a technological progression that is not overall and specific changes occurred tardily but this was interrupted by sets of major discoveries, which accelerate the rate of advancement many times in an instant.

The future of electronics is very unpredictable. Attempt to predict when these major breakthroughs may occur, fails in such a way that developments in electronics may be a commodity long before their initial emergence is predicted. As of the moment, the momentum of electronic advancement is rapidly rolling and there is no telling where to take us next.
